How WE Help

Community Support

Since 1935 the society has been proud to provide financial support to families and organizations in need within our community. Below is a list of just a few of the many different things we have continued to support over the years. The society hosts various events throughout the year to help us support others in the community.

Our Story

Hopes and Dreams for a Better Life

In the village of Nonatum, in what had been an Irish immigrant community for a generation, the last of the great European immigrations came from Italy to America, with the hopes and dreams of a better life. In adopting their new homes, they found bits of their culture lacking in traditions, as well as finding American organizations to be often exclusive with memberships. Hence from 1900s through 1930s, Italian ethnic and religious organizations saw a dynamic increase in these new communities and neighborhoods

Our Statue

La Madonna Del Carmine

Our statue of La Madonna Del Carmine was modeled after the Madonna in the town of Riccia, a little town in the province of Campobasso, in the region of Molise. The founders of our society all came from different towns and regions of Italy, someone from the Campobasso area must have had the suggestion, as La Madonna Del Carmine is popular all over Italy. The statues are almost identical except for the extra clothing on the one in Italy.
